Love Them Anyway

You can spend your whole life building
Something from nothin'

One storm can come and blow it all away

Build it anyway

You can chase a dream

That seems so out of reach

And you know it might not ever come your way

Dream it anyway

God is great
But sometimes life ain't good
And when I pray

It doesn't always turn out like I think it should
But I do it anyway

I do it anyway

This world's gone crazy

It's hard to believe

That tomorrow will be better than today

Believe it anyway

You can love someone with all your heart
For all the right reasons

In a moment they can choose to walk away

Love 'em anyway

You can pour your soul out singing

A song you believe in

That tomorrow they'll forget you ever sang

Sing it anyway

Yea, sing it anyway
Yeah, yeah!

I sing

I dream

I love anyway

ANYWAY - Martina McBride

Puteri's Haircut Day

I took her to the saloon @ Mines today. Mom's says Puteri remind her of me. She's cheeky, chatty and playful.

She has passed her exam and interview to enable her to register at SRAB - Sekolah Rendah Agama Bersepadu. These days.. nak masuk darjah satu pun ada interview dan exam. Tapi kata Puteri 'senang je soalan nya. adik dapat jawab semua' ;)

09.09.09

I'm not obsessed into numbers. But.. oh well.. its 090909.. and i just wanna post something here.

Quote from
Alfred Adler

“What do you first do when you learn to swim? You make mistakes, do you not? And what happens? You make other mistakes, and when you have made all the mistakes you possibly can without drowning - and some of them many times over - what do you find? That you can swim? Well - life is just the same as learning to swim! Do not be afraid of making mistakes, for there is no other way of learning how to live!”

but.. i still cant swim... so what does it mean? hahaha. good night!

A cup of coffee?

I stumbled upon this interesting anecdote. Here goes:

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the lecturer went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups – porcelain, plastic, glass, some plain-looking and some expensive and exquisite, telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the lecturer said: "If you noticed, all the nice-looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.

What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the better cups and are eyeing each other's cups. “Now, if Life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change.“

"Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it."

now i need my coffee :)

Happy Birthday Malaysia

Saya terserempak dengan pak cik ni, semalam – di pasar batu pahat semasa menunggu. Saya snap gambar ini tanpa di sedari oleh nya (agaknya lah).

Teruja saya melihat nya.

Hampir sudah tiada lagi berita muka depan yang memberi senyuman di waktu pagi. Skandal, rasuah, pecah amanah sudah menjadi kebiasaan. Di tambah dengan H1N1.

It hasn't been a lot of fun being Malaysian lately.

Tapi saya memilih untuk berfikiran yang baik. Saya optimistic.

The things you own end up owning you

A line from the movie - Fight Club where Brad Pitt's character says: "The things you own end up owning you. "

I'm just like everyone else. I see the fancy car, the nice clothes, handbags, shoes, the big house... I want it. I want it all. I am not innocent of this behavior; far from it. And I learned the hard way.

The temptations are always there. Sometimes it’s hard to resist. My mind will start being creative to create so many reasons to justify the purchase :) So, one of the way is that I avoid myself from going to the shopping mall, especially during mega sales. At the same time, I stop comparing. When you start to compare what you have with others; nothing is enough and satisfying.

I’ve read two books from Azizi Ali. He’s able to explain the key basic thing that you need to know in managing your money. But again, it’s up to us to act on it. The old Malay saying - "biar papa, asal bergaya" - it is one of the ugliest of Malay traits.

These days I spend less - on housing, on cars, on clothes, on my entire lifestyle. As long as I have a comfortable place to live, I have a car to drive, I have clothes on my back, and I have food on the table. No need for any fancy lifestyle - i live a life with no style :)

If there is no tomorrow for me, I don’t want to burden anyone. I don’t want to leave behind debt and any sort of trouble. Let my family have peace of mind.

I may not have much, but what I have is enough.

But because of the changes, I do still have a little extra money to take vacations (to keep me sane) or make special purchases when I need to without going into debt. And of course a little more saving for my retirement. I am hopeful that my mistakes will always act as a reminder to me to be wiser.

I wish you enough too, my friend :)

of optimism and hope.. or just plain naïve

Life has never been easy.

But I said to myself - "You need to have more faith in people" - at the risk of being completely naive.

I wonder how I can do that.

I always pray that I do not become cynical. Having hope makes us live. Make us fight for our belief and values. We hope for good things. For it we trust to come alive.

To see the world through the eyes of a child – I’m being naïve again.

But then, I could see all the beautiful things in life and this is the moment that i live for; right here right now – with less worries. Nothing happens to hurt me, scare me or disappoint me. I’m comfortable and at ease.

Quotes from Winston Churchill
A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity;
An optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty

Good night. I need the sleep.
