Spanish Steps

Eleven Hours

I had a very bad headache yesterday. Its almost 5.30 pm and decided to take a nap. Pop up active fast as the headache become worst and tried to get some sleep.

When i wake up, its already 4.30 am. Mak aihh... lamanya tidur. 11 jam. Terbaek. I must be extremely tired. Sikit pun tak terjaga. Tidur mati. Must be the hard work done for raya, cleaning up my room at the office and waking up early for sahur. I cant go back to sleep after sahur. My eyes wide awake even i slept late.

I read interesting article about  sleep earlier. Phyton sleeeeep 18 hours a day! Hmmm i have another seven hours to beat phyton...hehehe.

My headache is still there, seating in my head. Happy Sunday semua.

5th day of Raya. How's your tummy?

Raya oh raya.

This year all of us decided to celebrate Raya at mom's house. It has been ages we didn't celebrate Raya at our own house. My brothers told me, this is their second time sembahyang sunat hari raya di Masjid Batu Pahat. Ya ke? Macam tak betul je. Tapi mungkin betul. Sebab our normal routine was to celebrate malam raya with grand ma at kampung and the next day, usually in the evening, after sesi ziarah menziarah pak cik makcik, we heading to KL to visit another grand ma. Sama je tiap-tiap tahun dan biasanya, I will the first taking raya holiday and then back to office the earliest.

Kerana tahun ni saya pilih CNY, maka tiada cuti untuk Hari Raya, which turns out to be okay since mom decided to do her open house on first raya. Yeay! (hehehe).

Hariz buat muka kesian :)

I accidently found this video yesterday along with other candid photos inside my tab. Biasalah bila kat kampung, tab banyak peminat. I think her sister, Dina took the video and I think its cute :)

Family photo during raya. Its a bit hard to get everyone stay calm especially when bibik yang snap the photos. But the inperfection that makes it perfect. It has more stories to tell :)

First time berhari raya di rumah baru, excited la sikit

and food for tummy

Beryani Kambing in the making

Dalca sayur dan daging

Rendang Ayam Pencen

Nasi Beryani

The difficult part when cooking with mom is that her recipes always change.

I kind of like raya this year. Easy.

Have a happy and safe Eid everyone :)

The diva VIP

These are some of the things done especially for the one and only diva VIP

1. To always be wrong (even when i'm right)

2. To be questioned left right and centre, again and again and again until satisfied

3. To be screamed in your ears every now and then

4. On stand by mode with all figures in your head

5. To be liable for everything as if i'm responsible for everything

6. To give answer and justification even you don't have one

7. To accept without questioning

8. To buy food and coffee (even when its ramadhan)

9. To accompany diva VIP for cigarette break, even you are not a smoker (yup. u hv to suck the polluted air)

10. To hold diva VIP coffee and take care of diva VIP bag

11. To listen attentively even when its been repeating again and again and again

12. To agree when disagree

13.  To maintain your face as normal as possible even you have turn into taufoofa

14. Be okay with whatever

15. To always careful with the answer as usually its a trap question

16. To be fast, efficient and hands on.

Oh enough, for now.

As diva VIP is the last check point to ensure our survival, i always give in, without much question. Its not about what i want. Its not about me. I just need to deliver and get things done. I don't dare to jeopardise it. I do not have energy to gaduh gaduh pasal siapa betul siapa salah. I do not have to be right. I just need to put my ego jauh-jauh. At the end of the day, the result that matters. Whose wrong whose right doesn't matter. Saya kunyah dan telan semuanya as long as its get to the result and its comply to the statutory law.

It took a lot out of me. That's why i usually worn out, totally worn out after the visits or even a short phone call.

Not saying that your life is less difficult, but i had enough crap on my plate. So if you want to give me another crap i will return to you with even bigger crap. Hahaha.  Oh hooo... what happen to being the bigger person :p

Things that matter

Copied from a blog, sharing about a quote from an ustaz:

“Just because they don’t pray and don’t wear hijab, don’t assume that they will burn in hell. You have no right to make that assumption, only Allah can decide on that. Yes, by not praying and not wearing hijab, that will lead them to hell. But if they REALLY will end up in hell, only Allah knows, for they may have done many good things in life that you don’t know.”

Just because you think you are a good Muslim, it doesn’t mean Allah thinks the same of you.

Just because you think another person is a sinner, it doesn’t mean Allah thinks he or she is worse-off than you.

For in the end, what you think doesn’t matter, because only what Allah thinks does.

Twist a bit, makes me ponder on my own assumption that someone wearing hijab, should be better than those whose not wearing it? Reminder: What i think, doesn't matter. What Allah thinks does.

Phew... thank you strangers

It has been a habit in my past to 'buat muka kesian' to the dominos pizza rider and asked for free cupon eventhough they usually on time. I never failed on getting the cupon.

At KLIA airport, the queue was not that long. But i kind off berdebar-debar in case i'm late and tersesat sini sana while searching for the gate. Politely, with 'muka kesian' on my face, i asked a guy should he be kind enough to allow me to check in first. Result - success!

Last two weeks, i was late and rushing myself to tbs. Arrived at tbs, the queue to redeem the online bus tix was extremely super duper long and i have less than 10 mins or so to hop on to the bus. Realising that it was impossible to make it on time, again i have tried my luck of 'buat muka kesian'. I have asked the tbs staff that holding a walkie talkie to help me up.  The staff cut the queue and get me the boarding pass. Alhamdullilah. I managed to hop on into the bus on time.

Tadi, again... ada je drama. I managed to buy 6.30 pm tix and arrived tbs 45 mins before depature. Orang pun tak ramai. Lengang. Yalah next week dah balik raya. TAPI.... when i was about to buy some food for buka puasa, my purse was not in the bag. I left it in the office. Tidaaaaak.

Idea macam make sense. Saya terus menuju ke atm machine cap maybank. Again, i put up my 'muka kesian'.  Mula-mula tanya pada si gadis manis. Unfortunately, tiada akaun maybank.

Malangnya, kerna pop up blocker tak menjadi pula. Saya tak punya banyak masa. Maka saya catitkan nombor akaunnya dan saya berjanji padanya utk membayar semula secepat mungkin. Kerna kelam kabut saya lupa tanya nombor hp nya. Begitu juga dia.  Tapi saya bersyukur ya amat. Alhamdulillah. Terima kasih Azwan. Jasa mu di kenang. I'm grateful.

Remind myself utk tidak menyalah gunakan 'muka kesian' saya. Guna hanya perlu. Nanti magisnya hilang :-)

Cool Runnings - the movie

I heard about this movie few months back before the London Olympic started. The movie was referred as one of the best Olympic movies of all time. It was produced in 1993 and based on true story of the first Jamaican bobsled team trying to make it to the 1988 winter Olympics. Feeding my curiosity, I decided to make a point to watch it and it was a pleasant surprise.

The movie was fun, moving and straight forward. Its original. It's about reaching the impossible. On the other hand, I just realised how colouful Jamaican was :) Synopsis is here. Without winter and all the shortcoming, the only things that they have left  is determination to win. Nothing else matters.

Yep, I do recommend this movie especially on the hard days at work and inspiration is needed :)

Pretending who? me?

Why do you wear a mask? Were you burned by acid or something?
Oh no. It's just they're terribly comfortable. I think everyone will be wearing them in the future - The Princess Bride

Muka terasa tebal dan ketat. Cuba longgarkan. Cuba dengar music, kononnya chill... tak menjadi. Cuba sembang untuk tukar mood. Tak jugak hilang. Cuba buat senyuman palsu, gagal.

Diam sahaja. Sesuatu yang berat tersekat di kerongkong. Suara tidak terkeluar. Saya kunyah semuanya.

Oh... On being the bigger person kan :)
